Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Wednesday he'll meet with Secretary of State John Kerry in Italy next week to discuss Iran.
The meeting is planned for Oct. 23 during Netanyahu's visit to Rome to meet with Pope Francis at the Vatican, according to multiple reports.
President Obama assigned Kerry to handle negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program after Obama rekindled talks with its leader.
Obama and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani spoke by phone in late September, marking the first communication between the two governments in more than 30 years.
After that conversation, Netanyahu warned in a meeting with Obama and Vice President Biden at the White House that hes skeptical Rouhani would agree to a peaceful solution over Iran's nuclear program.
Since the beginning of October, Kerry has mostly been traveling abroad in the Asia-Pacific region, Afghanistan and London.
He returned home from London Monday and had scheduled meetings with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and Biden at the White House Wednesday.
