IRNA President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday appreciated all those involved in relief works, temporary housing and reconstruction of damaged units in Kermanshah province, noting that helping the quake-stricken people was a national undertaking.
Addressing a Cabinet session late Sunday, he added on the eve of anniversary of Kermanshah devastating quake, he said that quakes occurring at nights usually inflict large casualties, but thanks God a foreshock prompted the people to get out of homes, which helped decrease casualties.
Describing the quake as big test for provincial and national officials, he said that they spared no effort to help those affected in the deadly incident.
All the ministries and institutes joined hands to provide relief aid to the people and they did a big job, he said.
Fortunately, the report presented during todays Cabinet session was encouraging, as almost all have delivered their houses and this was a valuable job.
A 7.3-magnitude quake that hit Kermanshah Province near the border with Iraq left hundreds of people killed and injured in November 12, 2017.
The epicenter of quake was located at 34.86 degrees latitude and 45.9 degrees longitude, at the depth of 11 km.
