The relations between Iran and China were good before the JCPOA and are going on well after the deal; China has by far been Iran's biggest commercial partner and now, too, we are sure that the Chinese will stay alongside us, said Zarif.
He added that Iran and China have a practical and comprehensive cooperation and are commercial partners; the ties will continue as they are.
Zarif said he is in China to talk with the remaining members of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), after the US withdrew from the deal.
He told his Chinese counterpart that he hoped to be able to give a clearer image of the future of the JCPOA after his meeting in China and the upcoming meetings in Belgium and Russia.
Zarif arrived in Beijing on Sunday to hold talks with Chinese officials on Iran nuclear deal.
At the end of Beijing visit, the Iranian foreign minister is slated to travel to Moscow and Brussels to continue JCPOA-related talks in the aftermath of US walkaway from the key international deal.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said that Zarif will embark on an intensive tour of China, Russia and Belgium late Saturday to explore ways of preserving the JCPOA with Europe and other parties to the deal.
He added that Zarif will leave for China, Russia and seat of European Union at the order of President Hassan Rouhani to exchange views with Europe and other parties to the JCPOA on the survival of the deal following the US departure.
