Sudan’s navy commander hails Iran’s role in Red Sea security
Commander of Sudan’s Naval Forces Lieutenant General Dalil al-Daw says the presence of the Iranian fleets in the Red Sea insures security in the waters.
“The Navy of the Iranian Armed Forces has efficiently confronted piracy, in a way that Red Sea littoral states enjoy great security,” the visiting general told reporters after meeting with Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari on Thursday.
Iran routes oil via Indonesia to keep up exports

Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari says the Navy is set to fully overhaul and launch a destroyer in the coming days.
“The Bayandor Destroyer will join the naval fleet on May 24 after undergoing major repair work and being equipped with various weapons systems,” the Iranian commander told reporters on Thursday.
Iranian Majlis speaker stresses Iran-Iraq ties
Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has stressed the importance of the relations between the Islamic Republic and Iraq, saying continued cooperation between the two countries will lead to regional stability.
“The continuation of cooperation and consultations between the two countries’ officials on important regional issues – the most important one being the situation in Syria – can result in finding rational solutions and the establishment of regional stability,” Larijani said in a meeting with a member of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), Adel Abdul-Mahdi, on Wednesday.
