Sputnik - The United Arab Emirates' Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash on Friday slammed Doha's decision to return its ambassador to Iran in a move to boost Qatar's ties with Tehran.

On Thursday, Doha announced the decision toreturn its ambassador, followinga telephone conversation betweenthe leaders ofthe two countries.
"[Qatar's] sovereign decision should not be shy or confused, butits arrogance and adolescent behavior makes it so. Its justification is not convincing," Gargash wrote onTwitterasquoted byThe National news outlet.
Qatar's decision toreturn its ambassador toIran "embarrasses Doha and reveals its political tactics," Gargash added. The foreign minister also questioned the reasoning behindthe decision toboost ties withIran followingseveral Arab states' request toabandon them.
Gargash also pointed outthat Iran's main interest inthe Gulf lay inQatars gas fields.
In early June, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates announced their breaking offof diplomatic relations withQatar, accusing Doha ofsupporting terrorist organizations and destabilizing the situation inthe Middle East. The Qatari Foreign Ministry rejected the accusations ofDoha's interference inother countries' domestic affairs and expressed regret overthe Saudi-led group's decision tocut offdiplomatic ties.
On June 22, the countries blocking Qatar conveyed toDoha viamediators fromKuwait a list of13 demands torestore relations. The list included, inparticular, the closing ofthe Al Jazeera broadcasting network and the scaling downof Qatar's ties withIran. Doha has rejected the demands asan infringement onQatars sovereignty.
