IRNA - Irans Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Gholamali Khoshroo appreciated the Iranians residing in the North America for attending the May 19 presidential election.
In his message released on Monday, Khoshroo said that Iranians turnout had a five-fold increase this year.
He went on to say that the US-based Iranians went to 55 polling stations around the country to vote for the next president of Iran.
Irans 12th presidential election was held on Friday inside and in 102 countries. The incumbent President Hassan Rouhani won a landslide victory obtaining over 23.4 million of votes (57%) from more than 41 million ballots cast by Iranians all over the world.
