Iran unveils new drone, missile systems
The Islamic Republic of Iran has unveiled an indigenous stealth unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), two indigenous missile systems and a domestically-built mobile electronic interception system.

The drone, named Hazem 3, and Ya Zahra 3 and Mersad 2 missile systems as well as Sayyad 40 mobile electronic interception system were unveiled during a parade marking the National Army Day on Thursday.

 
Moderate earthquake rattles town in northwest Iran
Iran’s state TV says a moderate, magnitude 5.2 earthquake rattled a small town in the country’s northwest.

The TV says the quake shook the town of Tasooj at 3:09 p.m. (10:39 GMT) on Thursday. The town is about 600 kilometers (370 miles) northwest of the capital, Tehran. There were no immediate reports about any damage or casualties.

 
Iran refutes reports on sending of weapons to Syria
Iran does not send weapons or military personnel to any country, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, General Seyyed Hassan Firouzabadi said commenting on information about Iranian weapons and troops sent to Syria, circulating in the Western media.

 
Iran’s president slams ‘foreign presence’ in Persian Gulf
Iran’s president has slammed “foreign presence” in the Persian Gulf, claiming it’s the source of insecurity in the region.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran has “always guarded peace and security” in the Gulf and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

 
Israel lacks ability to launch military strike on Iran: Cmdr.
Commander of Iran’s Army Major General Ataollah Salehi has brushed aside Israel’s stepped-up warmongering rhetoric against Iran, saying the Tel Aviv regime lacks the capability to launch a military strike on the country.

The Israeli regime is too weak to pose a threat against Iran, Salehi told reporters on Thursday on the sidelines of a ceremony on the occasion of the National Army Day.
