Vaezi calls for Iran-Sweden cooperation in communications, IT

Tehran, Sept 15, IRNA Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmood Vaezi has called for expansion of Iran-Sweden cooperation in communications and information technology.


Vaezi raised the call in a meeting with Swedish Minister for Housing and Digital Development Lars-Johan Peter Eriksson on Thursday.

He emphasized cooperation between the educational and academic and scientific centers of Sweden to launch research and development activities.
'Regarding speedy development of communications and digital technology and its role in future development of Iran, we are willing to use Swedish companies' experience and progress in production and joint investment in line with interests of the two sides..'

Eriksson said Swedish companies are ready to be present in various energy, transportation, communications and different industries of Iran. 'Sweden has always had positive view coupled with respect to Iran and this was well observed during sanctions.'

After sanctions, Sweden is willing to play more active role in Iranian market, especially communications and information technology sector, added the Swedish minister.
He said his company is ready for cooperation with Iran to eliminate bureaucratic and banking barriers.
