TEHRAN March 17(Shana)--The newly-launched phase of South Pars gas field is producing 3 bcf/d or 84 mcm/d of gas, managing-director of Pars Oil and Gas Company said.
Ali-Akbar Shabanpour made the remarks on Tuesday after the inauguration of Phase 12 of South Pars by President Hassan Rouhani in southern Iran.
He said that Phase 12 is supplying 75 mcm/d of sweet gas, 120,000 b/d of gas condensate and 750 tons of sulfur, adding that this phase has three major and one satellite platforms.
South Pars holds 40% of Irans gas reserves. This reservoir, sprawling on 3,700 square kilometers, contains 14.2 tcm of gas and 19 billion barrels of gas condensate. The offshore reservoir can earn the Islamic Republic several trillion dollars in revenues.
