Tehran, Sept 29, IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani on Monday called for collective cooperation and joint investment by the Caspian Sea littoral states.
The President made the remarks in his address to the 4th Summit of Leaders of the Caspian Sea in Astrakhan, Russia.

President Rouhani said, "We should not allow security of the sea and its coasts to go dependent on variables other than collective and joint interests of the littoral states."

The president noted that the Caspian Sea should turn as hub of welfare and economic development and the Sea should be symbol of peace and security as well as symbol of cooperation among the neighboring nations.

"To this end, it would be wise to think on how to preserve major portion of the splendid maritime resources as common wealth for all the neighboring states and guarantee free navigation there."
