Iran foreign ministry strongly condemns incursion of Israeli drone

Irans Foreign Ministry hasstrongly condemned and described as a hostile act the intrusion of an Israeli spying drone into the Islamic Republics airspace.
Iran condemns the Israeli violation ofthe Islamic Republics airspace through this hostile act which amounts toviolation of its territorial integrity, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said on Monday.
In response to the flagrant violation of ourterritorial integrity, we reserve the right to [undertake] an appropriatedefensive action and to follow up on the issue at the level of legal and international bodies based on the results of necessary investigations and within the framework of international regulations, Afkham said.
Irans Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on Sunday that its forces had intercepted and brought down an Israeli spy drone which was heading to Natanz nuclear facility in the central Iranian province of Isfahan.

The stealth spy drone was targeted by a surface-to-air missile before it reached the strategic location, according to the statement.

The Hermes-type unmanned aerial vehicle can operate within a radius of 800 kilometers and is capable of flying 1,600 kilometers without refueling, said Commander of the IRGCs Aerospace Division Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, the IRGC released the footageof the downed Israeli spy drone.

On Sunday, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan warned that the Islamic Republic would give a crushing response to any enemy aggression against Iranian soil.
