TEHRAN (Tasnim) � Iran�s Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh is in Iraq for a two-day visit aimed at boosting trade ties between Tehran and Baghdad.

Heading a delegation, Nematzadeh arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday morning.

In his meetings with high-ranking Iraqi officials, including the Arab country�s ministers of trade and industry, Nematzadeh will discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two neighbors.

The Iranian minister will also visit Iran�s 2nd exclusive trade fair in Baghdad, which hosts 115 Iranian companies working in different fields.

Back in September 2015, Iran�s Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia said Tehran and Baghdad plan to increase their trade exchanges to $20 billion in the near future.

He said the current value of trade exchanges between the two neighboring countries amounts to $12 billion if transit and tourism are taken into account.
