TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian Foreign Ministry official said that the country uses its power and influence for peaceful purposes.

�Today, Iran is one of the most secure, stable and powerful countries of the Middle East,� said Director General of Political and Security Department of Iranian Foreign Ministry Hamid Baeidi-Nejad.

�Iran uses its power and influence for peace and stability in the region not for aggression and destabilizing neighboring countries as certain countries do,� he added.

�Iran is playing a key role in the region,� he said, adding all Iraqi officials have acknowledged that the ISIL would have seized Iraq if Iran had not helped.

�I believe that Iran�s future will be brighter after the JCPOA and we will witness progress in different domains and removing all limitations.�
