Tehran, June 12, IRNA - Iranian pilgrims have been warned against making �individual� trips to holy Shia sites in Iraq due to the ongoing conflict in the country.
An unnamed official said on Wednesday the holy shrines of two of Shia Imams in the city of Samarra are near the areas that were recently overrun by terrorist groups, the English-language newspaper ?Iran Daily? said in its Upside/Downside column on Thursday.
Iran also cancelled flights to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad due to security reasons.

The Al-Qaeda-linked Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) captured Mosul, the seat of Nineveh province.

After taking Mosul and parts of Kirkuk, the Al-Qaeda-linked militants captured two areas of Iraq�s Salaheddin province.

Siniyah and Sulaiman Bek, located north of the capital Baghdad, fell into the hands of the militants, said an army brigadier general and a local official. However, the terrorist group failed to capture Samara last week.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has called on the parliament to declare a state of emergency.

Violence also raged elsewhere with bombings and shootings across the country.
