The meeting was held in Geneva prior to the nuclear talks between Tehran and the sextet.

Highlighting Iran’s principled stand toward the Syrian crisis, Zarif underlined that the issue will be resolved through Syrian-Syrian political dialogue.

He called for the international community to airlift humanitarian aid and essential supplies to the Syrian people.

UN-Arab League special envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi, for his part, highlighted the efforts made in recent weeks to end the humanitarian disaster in Syria by political means.

The meeting was held at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
