Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA All those who had planned and carried out the terrorist attack on Iranian gas pipeline workers have been arrested, said Iranian Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaeefar on Friday.
He told IRNA that nine people have been arrested in this regard, all of whom have confessed to their crime.
Fifteen Iranians and three Iraqis working on a pipeline project in Iraqi province of Diyaleh were shot dead in an ambush by terrorists on their way back home last Friday.
The victims were working on a pipeline projected to carry natural gas from Iran to its western neighbor, when they came under attack.
Five Iranians and three Iraqis were also injured in the attack.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki immediately ordered formation of an investigation committee to probe the incident.
In a telephone conversation with Maliki on December 15, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned against terrorist attacks targeting the Muslim world, calling for a united front against terrorism.
