According to The Iran Project,Pondar told Al Jazeera that the decision to stop the war on Gaza is in the hands of the countries that finance Israel and provide the regime with weapons.

She expressed concern that Israel has been allowed to ignore the verdict of The Hague court and not pay attention to the protection of civilians in Gaza.

“The behavior of Israel proves why we filed the complaint in the International Court of Justice against the genocide of Palestinians”, the South African diplomat emphasized.

On January 8, South Africa filed a lawsuit at the top UN court against the Zionist regime over the mass killing of the Palestinian people with the aim of ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
According to an interim ruling issued by the ICJ after three days of hearing last month, the Israeli regime was ordered to take necessary measures to prevent crimes of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The court acknowledged that the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip led to the death of a large number of people and the forced migration of a number of others. But it stopped short of ordering a ceasefire that was a key demand in South Africa’s lawsuit,
