According to The Iran Project,In a joint meeting held between the National Habitat Committee (NHC), the international expert of the United Nations and the director generals of the Architecture and Urban Development Office, the two sides discussed sharing experiences and technical know-how for reviving the valuable structures and strengthening hospitals.

Japan’s fruitful experience on the construction rules and regulations on areas near fault lines was shared at the meeting, Secretary of the National Habitat Committee (NHC) Arman Khorsand stated.

In this meeting, officials of the two sides exchanged their views on the upcoming cooperation and joint projects as a joint venture.

It was agreed that the National Urban Policy (NUP) would be reviewed, approved and implemented soon at the Supreme Council of Architecture and Urban Development.

After the document is approved, the ground will be provided for more cooperation between the two countries in the field of recreating worn-out structures and retrofitting valuable historical structures, the adviser to Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development noted.

With the implementation of the document, Iran will be able to use the international funds for the revival and rehabilitation of the valuable urban structures, he added.

The meeting was attended by an International expert of the United Nations Masakatsu Miyajima, senior directors of the UN-Habitat in Tehran and the Architecture and Urban Development Office.

In cooperation with the Iranian Engineering Council, a specialized workshop will be held in Mazandaran province next week with the participation of an international expert from the United Nations Masakatsu Miyajima and also 200 top engineers.
