Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi in a message on Thursday congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his appointment as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In his congratulatory message, President Raisi expressed hope that the path ahead would lead cooperation between the two countries to reach desirable level.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is always ready to improve all-inclusive cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, including in the new term.

Sharif was appointed as Prime Minister of Pakistan by the country’s parliament after Imran Khan was ousted as a result of a no-confidence vote.
