Tehran, May 2, The Iran Project – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Logistics says America and Britain’s imperialism backs current crisis in Iraq.
Speaking to a reporter on Monday, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Logistics Brigadier General Mostafa Izadi said current crisis in Iraq is supported by the US and UK imperialism.

Referring to the Iraqi crisis, Brigadier General Mostafa Izadi stressed that America and Britain try to benefit from the protests to achieve their goals.

Izadi added that different factions in Iraq seek to bring favorable conditions for themselves.

Iraq has been the scene of a political turmoil in the past weeks over the efforts of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to form a new cabinet.

Attempting to name new cabinet, al-Abadi sought the approval of the parliament but as the MPs failed to reach a quorum, the session was rescheduled for a later time. So the postponement triggered the protests which were organized by Iraqi Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s supporters.

Then, a state of emergency was declared in Baghdad on April 30 after the demonstrators stormed Baghdad’s Green Zone and entered the parliamentary building.

It is worth mentioning that US is plotting a Velvet Revolution in Iraq, but this time, not by the Sunnis or the Kurds but by the Shias. Iraqi Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr is also intentionally or unintentionally helping the Americans to achieve their goal to overthrow the Shia government which is
approved by Iran.
