Iran claims Mossad kidnapped Tehran official with Hezbollah ties
The Israeli Mossad spy agency kidnapped Iran’s former deputy defense minister from Turkey in 2007 and moved him to Israel, Tehran’s current Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Daqiqi claimed on Saturday. Iranian security services “have a lot of evidence proving that members of the Israeli intelligence service have kidnapped [Alireza] Asgari,” Daqiqi told Iranian reporters at a ceremony marking the sixth year since Asgari disappeared while in Turkey, adding he was transferred to Israel.

 
Iran demands damages for attack on consulate in Afghan city
Iran has called on the Afghan government to pay for damages resulting from an attack on its consular office in the western Afghan city of Herat and to guarantee its full security. Iran’s Consul General to Herat Rahim Mohammadi Yekta censured the failure of Herat officials to fulfill their legal duties in protecting the consulate building and told reporters that his colleagues need “psychological security” to carry out their work.


 
New US bans on Iran will fail, against internatinal law: MP
An Iranian lawmaker said the new sanctions imposed by the United States on Iran over Tehran's nuclear program will fail, Press TV reported Sunday. "The sanctions on seven firms and five other Iranian individuals by the United States are in violation of human rights and against international regulations," Mohammad-Hassan Asafari, a member of Iran's Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, was quoted as saying on Saturday.

 
‘Russia would support Pak-Iran gas pipeline’
Russia would consider supporting the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project if Pakistan sought its help, a senior Russian diplomat said on Saturday. Talking to The Express Tribune on the sidelines of a conference organised by the Voice of Russia at the South Asian Free Media Association office here on Saturday, Russian Embassy Political Counselor Vladimir Shreter said Pakistan was a sovereign state and it should take decisions independently.


 
Iran's Minister: People pay 70 percent of salary for medical expenses
If we count all the hidden fees and expenses, people in Iran pay around 70 percent of their salaries for medical expenses, Iranian Health Minister Marziyeh Vahid Dastjerdi said, ILNA reported. "The costs of heathcare and intractable diseases treatments, annually bring 7,5 percent of people in Iran below the poverty line," Dastjerdi said, noting that expenses for healthcare in Irain increase day by day.
