Iran to inaugurate major highway linking Isfahan to Shiraz
The Iran Project - The Iranian Ministry of Transportation has announced that a major highway project connecting the cities of Isfahan and Shiraz will be completed by October.

The 212-kilometer highway, which is the longest ever built in Iran as part of a single project, has cost 250 trillion rials ($500 million), with nearly half of the funding coming from private investors.

The new highway will reduce travel time between Isfahan and Shiraz by 134 kilometers or almost two hours and is expected to save 100 million liters of fuel per year.

The project includes the tallest road bridge in Iran, measuring 110 meters in height and 264 meters in length.

The completion of this highway is part of Iran's efforts to expand its transportation network and improve cargo transit from other countries. Since the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran has constructed a total of 2,700 kilometers of highways.
