President Raisi calls for expansion of Iran-Malaysia ties
The Iran Project - Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi underlined the need to expand bilateral relations between Tehran and Kuala Lumpur, especially in trade, agriculture, industry, science, technology, and cultural fields.

President Raisi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Malaysian Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir in Tehran on Tuesday.

The Iranian president considered the preparing of a long-term strategic cooperation plan between Iran and Malaysia as important for drawing new horizons in bilateral engagement.

"We hope that by preparing and compiling this program, we will be able to experience untraveled ways, especially in increasing relations and economic exchanges," he noted.

The Malaysian foreign minister, for his part, considered the Islamic Republic of Iran as a very important partner for his country in the region and the Islamic world.

Stressing that his country will never recognize the oppressive US sanctions against Iran, Abdul Kadir evaluated the holding of joint meetings with the officials of the Islamic Republic during his trip as very positive.

He also called for the development and strengthening of bilateral relations with Tehran, especially in agriculture, medicine and science and technology.

On Monday, the Iranian foreign minister had announced that after six years the joint economic commission between Iran and Malaysia will be held in Tehran soon.
