Iran sets up 1,800 Moukebs for Arbaeen: Organizer
The secretary of the Arbaeen headquarters announced the launch of 1,200 Moukebs inside the country and borders, adding that over 1,800 Moukebs are located both inside Iraq and in the pilgrimage cities of Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya, and Samarra.

Referring to the problems that some Iranians faced to enter Iraq, Mohammad Taghi Bagheri said that with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked this year between Iran and Iraq, we suggested several cases, including the entry of foreign nationals into Iraq, and asked them to solve the problem of non-citizens.

Pointing to the number of Iranian Moukebs, he noted that more than 3,800 Iranian Moukebs are officially approved by the Headquarters of Arbaeen, of which 1,200 are placed inside the country and borders, and more than 1,800 Moukebs are set up inside Iraq and in the pilgrimage cities of Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimiya, and Samarra.

The Arbaeen mourning ceremony is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

It marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Imam Hussein (AS).

Each year, pilgrims, mainly from Iraq and Iran, travel long routes on foot to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located.
