The Cultural Landscape of Uraman was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the 26th tangible cultural heritage of Iran at the 44th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee on July 27, 2021.Fariba Maleki, a professor of tourism studies, told IRNA that the global registration of Uraman would lead to the economic prosperity as well as cultural and social development of the region. She said that it would help introduce Uraman to peoples all over the world and attract their attention to the historical and cultural heritages of the region.

Maleki continued that various measures could be undertaken to train local people and prompt them to contribute to the preservation of their historical monuments. «The significant potentials of the region were identified by the UNESCO inspectors», she said, pointing out that the necessary studies were carried out on the archeology, anthropology, architecture, history, civilization and geography of Uraman.
