Iran Army Ground Force stages drill in NW border regions

The Iranian Army Ground Force has launched a military exercise in the northwestern border areas.

An infantry brigade of the Army Ground Force with special mobility and offense capabilities has taken the lead in the drill, which involves nocturnal maneuvers.

The war game includes mechanized infantry and armored units, drone squads, and artillery units.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the military exercise, Commander of the Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the structure of the Ground Force has undergone major changes and it has turned into an agile offense force with rapid reaction capabilities.

Highlighting the successful operations carried out in the war game to practice new combat tactics, the commander warned the enemies that the Army Ground Force would immediately counter any act of aggression.

Iran’s Armed Forces hold routine military exercises throughout the year.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will be never subject to negotiations.
