Iran oil tanker heading to Persian Gulf: NITC

SHANA -- National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) announced that SABITI Oil Tanker which was probably hit by missiles in the Red Sea was sailing towards the Persian Gulf.

According to NITC, the blast-hit SABITI vessel is heading towards the Persian Gulf after being stabilized following the two blasts on Friday morning.

The oil tanker belongs to NITC and is believed to have been stricken by two missiles 60 miles off the Jeddah Port, Saudi Arabia at 5 and 5:20 a.m.

The blasts damaged storerooms of the vessel. The source of the strikes is not determined yet and is under investigation.

According to NITC, the ship did not catch fire and all of its crew members are safe and secure.
