IRNA � Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in a statement called for the arbitral commission on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to convene.

'The necessity to convene a session of the JCPOA Joint Commission is getting increasingly evident, the statement reads.

It added: 'We expect that it will be appointed eventually so that the countries participants in the agreements jointly determine the ways for normalizing the situation in the interests of guaranteeing that the JCPOA stays.'

Stressing the fact that Russia is watching JCPOA development carefully, the Russian Foreign Ministry said it is very important that all measures taken by Iran are under the full control of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and will make no problem regarding Iran commitments in the framework of the JCPOA.

The Russian ministry emphasized the importance of keeping Iran nuclear deal, expressing hope for Iran to prevent stopping implementation of its JCPOA commitments.
Earlier, leaders of Russia, France and Germany in a phone call underlined preserving Iran nuclear deal.

In the meantime, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas decried the US escalation on Iran, saying Europe is counting on dialogue rather than rhetorical armament.

'The hard course of the US in the nuclear dispute with Iran is wrong. It remains incomprehensible to us that the US unilaterally retired from the nuclear agreement with Tehran,' Maas was earlier cited by the German daily 'Passauer Neue Presse' (Saturday edition).

This is while, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has verified in 14 reports that Iran has stuck to the 2015 nuclear deal despite the US withdrawal last year.
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on May 8 that Iran will give a 60-day moratorium to the states parties to Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to remedy their breaches and restore Iran's interests enshrined by the international deal.

Iranian Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) in a statement announced that Iran has stopped some of its commitments under the JCPOA as of May 8, 2019.

Over the past year and after the US illegal withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal and its breach of the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, the Islamic Republic of Iran has shown most of its self-restraint and has given considerable opportunity on requests made by other parties to JCPOA, the statement reads.

May 8 marks the first anniversary of the US unilateral withdrawal from the Iran Deal formally known as the JCPOA endorsed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231.
