Iran: Peaceful poll indication of democracy in Turkey

IRNA – Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman congratulated Turkey on Monday on the successful holding of local and municipality elections, saying that democracy in regional countries is guarantee for the region’s independence, security and stability. 

Holding the elections peacefully is another sign that democracy is governing Turkey, the ministry’s Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said.

He also wished ever-growing prosperity for Turkish people.

On Sunday, people in Turkey cast their votes to elect local officials, including mayors and city council members.

There are 1397 municipality in total 81 Turkish provinces that are mostly affiliated to the ruling party of Justice and Development (AK).
