Iran stresses need for regional interaction

IRNA – Iran’s Ambassador to Georgia Seyyed Javad Qavam Shahidi on Monday stressed the need for promoting interaction and cooperation among regional states.

In a meeting with a number of students and instructors of University of Caucasus, he reiterated Iran’s interest in boosting ties with regional states.

“Iran’s stance regarding communications with southern Caucasus and regional strategies are in line with convergence among regional states, boosting national and regional power of the countries through reliance on existing capacities in the fields of energy, mines, transit and transportation and social assets,” he said.

He called for serious attention to bilateral and regional collaboration in fighting terrorism and organized crimes and drug smuggling.

Qavam Shahidi also urged strong communications between University of Caucasus and Iranian universities.
