Iran ready to broaden ties with China: Speaker

IRNA – Speaker of the Iranian parliament Ali Larijani on Tuesday met with the head of the People’s Congress of China, emphasizing that Iran is ready to strengthen relations with China in various fields.

In a meeting with Li Zhanshu in Beijing, while acknowledging the good hosting of the People’s Parliament of China, the high-ranking Iranian official underlined that the two countries’ ties have always been in history along with friendship of two nations.

The head of the Chinese People’s Parliament also said at the beginning of the meeting on the history of relations between the two countries of China and Iran, which had been established more than 2,000 years ago, said that in the history of relations between the two countries there has never been a conflict between the two countries.

He said the visit of the Chinese president to Iran, in which the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries was signed, was a turning point in relations between the two countries, and showed the way for long-term cooperation between the two countries.

Addressing Iranian Parliament Speaker, the head of the Chinese People’s Parliament said that his trip at the head of a high-level delegation would be a clear message for long-term cooperation.

The head of the Iranian parliament, who traveled to the country at the invitation of Li Zhanshu, his Chinese counterpart, arrived in Beijing on Tuesday evening.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif Foreign Minister, Bijan Zanganeh Minister of Petroleum, and Finance Minister Farhad Dejzpasand, and Head of Central bank Abdul Nasser Hemmati are also accompanying Larijani.
