IRNA Holding an anti-Iranian conference in Warsaw will not afford the least help to compensate the US defeats against Iran, a former Russian diplomat said on Friday.
Viacheslav Matozov, also the head of the Russian-Arab States' Friendship Association, made the remarks in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
He said that the US plan to compensate its defeats, particularly those in Syria and Afghanistan, would not prove helpful.
The conference, which will be hosted by Poland and sponsored by the United States, is not to resolve the Middle East issues, but is aimed to meet the US geopolitical interests, Matozov said.
With Warsaw Conference, the US seeks to unify the anti-Iran coalition and to get Western countries and some Arab states together, he added.
He said that having become aware of the main goal behind the US goal in holding the conference in Warsaw, Russia declined to participate in it as presence in such a conference would have been translated as accepting Washingtons superiority.
Noting that the US has lost the game in Syria, he said that the US would not withdraw forces from Syria voluntarily by any means.
Ankara has warned Washington that its continued support for Syrian Kurds would entail grave consequences for which the Washington administration would be held accountable, Matozov said
