IRNA � Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi says the extremist regime of the US follows a path which has no benefit for Americans.�


The US and in particular, its current extremist regime, because of its old hostilities against the Iranian nation and in a bid to oppose the previous US government, follows a path that has no benefit for this country, Qasemi said.

He noted that the US government is now desperate because it has no alternative for the Iranian nuclear deal after its withdrawal.

The Iranian spokesman referred to the US paradoxical approach towards Iran and said the government will defend the rights of Iranian nationals against the enemies.

Iran has always showed that it wants peaceful co-existence with its neighbors, he added.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman cautioned the regional nations against the US divisive plots.

The US behavior shows that the country seeks to make chaos in the region, Qasemi said.

He made the remarks in reaction to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accusations. In his recent visit to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Pompeo stressed continuation of pressure on Iran.
