IRNA – Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh on Monday called for export of products of some 10 petrochemical facilities operating in Kermanshah, Ilam, Lorestan and Kurdestan provinces to Iraq.
Addressing a conference on Kermanshah province’s capacities, he described Iraq as a good market, adding that the market is located in the neighborhood of Kermanshah province and this is a good capacity for the province.
“Iraq will never reach production stage in the petrochemical sector by the next ten years,” he said, noting that western provinces can export their products to Iraq.
Downstream industries do not need more spending and jobs can be generated in the sector, Zangeneh said.
Western provinces boast of numerous capacities and capabilities which should be used in line with developing them.
