Sputnik - Chinese major stock exchanges opened on Monday with a slight decrease amid the looming introduction of the new package of US sanctions against Iran, according to the trading data.




As of9:28 a.m. local time (01:28 GMT), the Shanghai Composite Index ofthe Shanghai Stock Exchange dropped by0.41 percent to2,665.43 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index ofthe Shenzhen Stock Exchange dropped by0.45 percent to7,831.82 points, and the Hang Seng Index ofthe Hong Kong Stock Exchange decreased by1.65 percent to26,050.34 points.

In May, Trump announced Washingtons withdrawal fromthe Iran nuclear agreement and subsequent reinstatement ofsanctions that had previously been lifted underthe deal. The first roundof sanctions againstIran took effect inAugust.

Later onMonday, the second batch ofUS restrictions againstIran, is set tocome intoeffect, targeting the country's oil exports.
