IRNA � The US and Zionist regime's plots against Iran are doomed to failure, senior Iranian cleric said in the second sermon of his Friday prayers.

Similar to the past four decades, their plots will be foiled and the US President Donald Trump and the Zionist regime's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's anti-Iranian dreams will not come true, Tehran's Provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani added.

He urged all people and officials to be united against foreign pressures, noting that enemies have waged a psychological war against the Islamic Republic to frighten people about the future.

The cleric said the US has planned to weaken the Islamic countries, including Iran and bring them under control of Zionist regime.

The US President Donald Trump mounted pressure on Iran and on May 8 announced that Washington would withdraw from Iran's nuclear deal and re-impose nuclear-related sanctions on the country.

This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and the European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of the world peace and security.
