ISNA - Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi stresses that Europe won�t confront with US in favor of Iran.

In an exclusive interview with ISNA, Kamalvandi said, �Unfortunately, it is a fact; the world economy without US is not imaginable due to its role in the monetary and banking systems, industry and technology. At the same time, Europe needs to be firm in this regard not only because of economic issues but also because of its identity and security. But we should know that Europe won�t confront with US in favor of Iran and may just take a different policy toward Washington�.

Answering a question about the latest developments in the Arak reactor updating project, he stated, �according to the Resolution 2231, even if the United Nations Security Council resolutions on Iran would return in any way, accords such as modernization of the Arak research reactor and producing stable radioisotope as part of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action�s (JCPOA) will remain and no limitation is considered for them�.

Kamalvandi also announced that in September, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi will attend the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Annual Conference in Vienna.
