Parliament to set travel ban for officials

IRNA – An senior lawmaker said on Sunday that a group of MPs are now mulling and collecting signature for a plan to set travel ban on top officials, governor generals and MPs for a-two-year period enabling the judiciary to examine their performance.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Abolfazl Aboutorabi said the plan paves the way for punishment of those seeking to avoid abiding by the rule of law.

Regretfully, some officials avoid implementing laws and Majlis is to fill the gap through setting of new travel ban to examine their records of activities during their tenures, he said.
