Iran Navy commander meets with Japanese, Pakistani military attachés

MNA – Iran’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi held separate meetings with military attachés of Japan and Pakistan in the Iranian Army Navy’s headquarters Mon.

On Monday, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi first held a meeting with the former and new Pakistani military attachés during which he expressed hope that the two countries, especially their navies can enhance bilateral relations with the aim of maintaining the security of the Indian ocean region.

Calling for exchange of experiences and training courses between the two countries, Khanzadi described Pakistan as a friendly and brother country.

Meanwhile, the commander of the Iranian Army’s Navy stressed that the security of the region will be maintained if the foreign countries stop interfering in its affairs.

Referring to Iran’s presidency of 10-nation Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS), he stressed the need for strengthening cooperation among the member states with the aim of strengthening the security of the seas.

The Pakistani former military attaché, for his part, hailed the growing relations between Iran and Pakistan navies, pointing to recent exchanges of visits between the two countries’ naval officials.

He added "there have always been interactions between the two Iranian and Pakistani navies based on maritime diplomacy and there have also been exchanges of visits.”

Separately, rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi held a meeting with Japanese military attaché.

Khanzadi said in the meeting "we are interested in using shared geographic, historical, geopolitical and technological capabilities between Iran and Japan," adding that although in the recent IONS meeting the two countries’ representatives held talks, Iran is looking for more meetings and expanded ties.

The Japanese military attaché, in turn, said that he would transfer the Iranian side’s message to Tokyo, expressing hope that the two countries’ cooperation increases.
