Sanaei hails Iran-Russia banking relations

MNA Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei hailed the good banking relations between Iran and Russia, saying the necessary conditions have been made for further expansion of ties between the two sides.

Sanaeis comments came following a meeting between an Iranian delegation headed by Leaders senior adviser Ali Akbar Velayati and a Russian delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin.

The meeting held in Moscow on Thursday aimed at delivering Irans message to Putin about the countrys position toward the JCPOA after the US pullout from the agreement and reinstatement of sanctions.

The Iranian envoy, who also attended the meeting of Velayati and Putin earlier today, said consultations are taking place at all levels and sectors between the two countries, adding in the fields of trade and economy, we have made good progress, such as the good banking relations that have formed between the two sides, and a number of customs documents have been signed.

Sanaei maintained that while the volume of transactions has increased, the desired point has not yet been reached; we are hoping to reach the ideal point, particularly in Irans exports to Russia, with participation from various private and public sectors, he added.

Speaking to IRIB on Thursday after his meeting with President Putin, Ali Akbar Velayati said that Russia has voiced readiness to invest up to $50 billion in Irans oil sector.
