Rouhani, Putin to meet in China

IRNA Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit slated for June 9-10.


Meetings between Rouhani and Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Pakistan counterpart Mamnoon Hussain, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon have been arranged in advance, Russian media RIA Novosti quoted Yuri Viktorovich Ushakov, Putins advisor as saying.

Rouhani and Putin are supposed to discuss some regional issues and also the latest developments of Iran nuclear deal famously known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he added.

He went on to say that both sides will review holding meeting on Caspian Sea cooperation.

Rouhani's visit will take place at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, an official at presidential office said earlier.

During his stay in China, Parviz Esmaeili said the Iranian president will deliver a speech at the summit and hold bilateral meetings with the senior officials including the Chinese president, heads of participating delegations and heads of international organizations.

Esmaeili added that a high-ranking delegation is to accompany President Rouhani during his China visit.
