Iran reformist MPs review burning JCPOA symbolic copy

IRNA – Members of the Omid reformist faction in Majlis (Parliament) have set up a committee to discuss burning a symbolic copy of the Iran Deal and the US flag on Majlis floor.

After US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on May 8, some MPs fired a symbolic copy of the JCPOA and also the US flag, Omid Faction spokesman Bahram Parsaei told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday.

Members of Omid Faction are against such moves in the parliament, Parsaei.

US President Donald Trump announced that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.

This is while most world powers including Russia, China, and European Union have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
