Iran's defense minister, Hashd al-Sha'abi official meet in Baghdad

Iran
IRNA Iran's Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami and Vice-Chairman of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Sha'abi) Abu Mehdi al-Mohandas discussed issues of mutual interests in Baghdad on Thursday.

During the meeting General Hatami slammed big powers and crimes committed by them.

World hegemonic powers committed numerous crimes and have overtly provided all kinds of supports to the enemies of Islam, he said.

Al-Mohandas, for his part, presented a report on the process based on which Hashd al-Sha'abi forces were formed, equipped and organized in Iraq.

The Iraqi commander described as outstanding recent victories of the Resistance Forces in defeating Daesh (ISIS) terrorists.

He praised and described as crucial the role played by Iran's Supreme Leader, religious authorities and Ayatollah Ali Sistani in fostering unity among Hashd al-Sha'abi fighters.

Al-Mohandas expressed hope for establishment of full security and stability in Iraq in the near future through sincere cooperation between the government and people.

Brigadier General Amir Hatami arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday for a two-day visit.

He met with a number of Iraqi military and civil officials and discussed bilateral defensive and security issues with them.

Two memoranda of understanding were signed in presence of General Hatami in Baghdad.
