Iran's top commanders hail army’s deterrence power



March 4, The Iran Project - Recently, several high-ranking Iranian commanders highlighted the deterrence power of the Islamic Republic, stressing that the enemy cannot do a damn thing against the country.

In separate gatherings Commander of the navy force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, Commander of the Iranian Air Defense Force Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeeli as well as Armed Forces spokesman General Masoud Jazayeri praised the Iranian army capabilities in repelling enemies plots.

Commander Fadavi hailed Iranian navy's deterrence power and said that enemy cannot do a damn thing against the Islaimic Republic at sea, adding that the US officials' remarks prove the superior status of Iran's Armed Forces.

He described the sea as a major point for deterring enemies' hostilities and noted that the IRGC navy and the army navy are both united and powerful enough to repel any attack.

Meanwhile, Commander Esmaeeli stated Iranian air defense system Bavar-373, which has a higher quality than S-300, has turned into a nightmare for the enemies.

“Memories such as 1953 coup against (former Iranian prime minister) Mosaddeq, Operation Tabas [Operation Eagle Claw], Iran Air Flight 655 [shot down by the US navy in the Persian Gulf], and killing Iranian people before the 1979 Islamic Revolution will be never forgotten,” said Commander Esmaeeli.

General Esmaeeli asserted that Iran will never forget recurrent assassinations that took place after the revolution and during the Iraqi imposed war against Iran in 1980-1988.

In a meantime General Jazayeri said destroying US nuclear weapons and the long-range missiles are Iran’s pre-conditions for holding talks on missile programs.

What the Americans say out of desperation as regard restricting Iran’s missile power is an unachievable ambition indicating their failure in the region, he said.

Elsewhere is his remarks, Jazayeri referred to the Zionist regime, and said Iran considers Israel as an occupier, illegitimate and illegal regime.
