Iran health minister underlines need for EU to implement JCPOA

IRNA Iranian Minister of Health Seyyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hasehmi has stressed the need for the European Union to remove obstacles in the way of European and Belgian companies activities in Iran, in line with implementation of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

In a meeting with his counterpart from Belgian Flanders Jo Vandeurzen in Brussels on Wednesday, he pointed to existence of good grounds for cooperation and signing of agreements between Iranian and Belgian companies, saying, We are still at the beginning of the way and all need help and backing.

The Iranian minister also noted that as Iran has remained committed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), EU should do so, he said.

One of such obligations is supporting investment, solving banking problems and removing financial issues and the Belgian government can offer incentives for the countrys investors and companies to start activities in Iran.

It seems that the European companies are eager to engage in Iranian projects, as they are keen on a market of 400-million because Iran boasts of millennia-old common culture with such countries as Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon and Central Asian states, Hashemi said.
He also hoped that bilateral economic relations would be better than political ties, maintaining that if private sectors of the two countries are provided with opportunities, they will help improve political relationship.

Hashemi invited his counterpart from Belgian Flanders region to visit Tehran to become more familiar with Iranian healthcare sector.
