IRNA An earthquake measuring 4.6 on Richer scale shook suburbs of the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan late on Monday.
According to reports by the seismography center affiliated to Tehran University's Geophysics Institute, the quake occurred in Iraq and suburbs of Mirabad (West Azarbaijan).
The quake took place at 22:50 hours local time at the depth of 10 km underground.
No casualties or damage to properties have so far been reported.
Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
