US says talks with European trio over JCPOA underway

Tasnim US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Americas European counterparts in the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers have finally begun talks.

Speaking to reporters in Warsaw on Saturday, Tillerson confirmed that Britain, France and Germany have all agreed to work on the 2015 agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Working groups, he claimed, have already begun to meet on efforts to agree on what he called principles: "What is the scope of what we attempt to address and also how much we engage Iran on discussions to address these issues.

Earlier this month, Trump again waived sanctions against Iran that were lifted as part of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal, but threatened he would terminate the agreement if significant flaws in it are not fixed, according to Fox News.

Iran has rejected renegotiation and has said that it has complied with all of the original terms of the deal, which was reached in 2015 under the Obama administration.

Ali Akbar Velayati, an international adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has rejected Trumps calls for renegotiating the JCPOA, stressing that the nuclear deal will remain unchanged.
