Iran, Pakistan agree to remove exporting barriers

IRNA Members of West Azarbaijan Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, who are in Pakistan, reached agreement to create a working joint committee to remove exports obstacles between the two countries.


The agreement was reached after holding meetings with members of the chambers of commerce of Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Karachi.

Pakistani fruit and vegetable importers-exporters association reached agreement with the West Azarbaijan province chamber of commerce to establish a working joint committee to remove the obstacles.

The two sides also reached agreement to hold exclusive Pakistan exhibition in Iran in a near future.

Head of West Azarbaijan province delegation Behnam Tajdini in meeting with members of Islamabad chamber of commerce underlined the necessity to revise tariffs on Iran's exporting crops to Pakistan.

According to the latest statistics, Iran, Pakistan trade exchange volume in the first nine months of the year 1396 (March-December 2017) had increased by around 50 percent.

In the current year, Iran's export of goods to Pakistan increased by 7 percent in comparison with the same period of preceding year (first nine months) and Pakistan exporting goods to Iran showed 42 percent increase.

Iran's exporting goods to Pakistan in the first nine months of the year was worth 634 million dollars and Pakistan exporting goods to Iran was worth 348 million dollars.
