Iran vows to stay in Syria until terrorists’ ultimate annihilation

FNA- Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani reiterated his country’s firm decision to continue its military advisory role in Syria until all terrorist groups are uprooted.

“We will continue presence and providing advisory services in Syria until annihilation of all terrorist groups in the country at the demand of the legal Syrian government,” Shamkhani said, addressing a forum in the Western province of Kurdistan on Monday.

He underlined that allegations against Iran by Israel or other countries would never tilt the country’s calculations and decisions in pursuit of its national interests and establishment of regional security.

Elsewhere, Shamkhani stressed that the US and Israel’s miscalculation and strategic mistake to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital increased unity in the Muslim world, and said, “Certainly such measures will speed up the Zionist regime’s demise.”

His remarks came after Iranian Supreme Leader’s top aide for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati warned that Washington is pursuing plots to foment insecurity in Syria and Iraq again.

“The US is after turmoil again in Syria and Iraq, specially in Raqqa,” Velayati said earlier this month.

He stressed that there is no need for the US presence in the region, and said, “Certainly, the Syrian government and people and the resistance front will force the Americans to leave those regions in Syria which have been occupied by them.”

Velayati added that the West Asian states are the only ones entitled to be present in the region, and said, “Iran has played an advisory role in Iraq and Syria upon the legal invitation of their governments.”
