FNA- Iranian Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri in a letter to Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi ordered the AEOI to build research reactors.

"The following text is annexed as paragraph 20 to the article 7 (of the statute of the Nuclear Power Plants Production and Development Company of Iran): designing, building and launching research reactors in line with meeting the goals and missions of the AEOI," Jahangiri said in his letter to Salehi on Saturday.

The AEOI announced in a statement in January that the its research and development department has started injecting UF6 (uranium hexafluoride) into its highly advanced IR-8 centrifuges.

"This stage of injection is a leap forward in safely arriving at the guidelines provided by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei who mandated development to the highest level of technology of nation�s nuclear program and technology which was in the framework mandated by the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)," the statement said.

According to the AEOI's statement, IR-8 is the most advanced generation of centrifuges designed and developed by Iranian experts and engineers.

Iran's plans to inject UF6 into IR8 machine had been earlier announced by AEOI Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi.
